Bangladesh has issued a strong condemnation of the recent resumption of Israeli military aggression in the Gaza Strip, expressing deep concern over the devastating impact on civilians, including women and children. In a statement released today, the Bangladeshi foreign ministry condemned the extensive loss of innocent lives and the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
The statement highlighted that this new wave of violence constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law and a disregard for established ceasefire agreements. Bangladesh condemned Israel’s continued airstrikes on densely populated civilian areas, which have only escalated human suffering and inflicted severe damage on the defenseless Palestinian population.
The Government of Bangladesh called for the immediate cessation of military operations by Israel, urging maximum restraint and respect for international humanitarian obligations. The statement further called on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take urgent action to end the hostilities, protect civilian lives, and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza.
Bangladesh reaffirmed its steadfast support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the creation of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the pre-1967 borders.
Additionally, Bangladesh stressed the need to resume dialogue to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, which remains essential for both regional and global stability. The government urged all parties to prioritize diplomacy and peaceful solutions to end the ongoing violence and suffering in Gaza.
Bangladesh reiterated its commitment to working with the international community to find a durable solution to the Palestinian issue, consistent with international law, United Nations resolutions, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people for peace, dignity, and justice.
