The two-day CESC Mathmagics 2026, a mega mathematics competition aimed at exploring students’ mathematical talent and encouraging intellectual development, began at Cantonment English School and College (CESC) in a festive atmosphere.

The inaugural day of the event was successfully held on Tuesday, with Principal Lt Col Fahim Adnan Siddiqui inaugurating the programme.

The competition has been divided into five categories based on students’ academic levels: Kids (K), Primary (P), Junior (J), Senior (S) and Higher Secondary (HS). A total of 10 events have been included in the two-day competition, eight of which were held on the opening day.

The events held on the first day included the Math Olympiad, Geometry Dash, Math Relay, Math Meme, Poster Designing, Wall Magazine, Tic-Tac-Toe and Rubik’s Cube.

Students from different categories took part in the competitions with enthusiasm, demonstrating their mathematical skills, logical reasoning, creativity and problem-solving abilities. The campus turned into a lively hub of mathematical activities as students competed in individual and team-based events throughout the day.

The organisers said the event was designed to present mathematics to students in an engaging and enjoyable way, moving beyond conventional classroom-based learning. Through a combination of competitive and creative activities, the programme sought to encourage students to develop an interest in mathematics while allowing them to demonstrate their talents.

Awards for the submission-based events and the Math Relay competition were also presented on the opening day.

The second and concluding day of CESC Mathmagics 2026 will be held on August 13 at the CESC auditorium. The day will feature the Integration Bee for Higher Secondary students and the Math Riddle competition for participants in the Kids category. An exhibition of the works submitted for various submission-based events will also be held.

The main winners of the Math Olympiad, Geometry Dash and Kids category will receive their prizes at the closing ceremony on August 13.

The CESC authorities credited the guidance and direct supervision of Principal Lt Col Fahim Adnan Siddiqui, along with the dedicated efforts of members of the CESC Math Club, for the successful organisation of the event.

The initiative is expected to help make mathematics more enjoyable and popular among students while creating opportunities for them to develop analytical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.

Following the successful completion of the opening day, students, teachers and organisers are now looking forward to the grand closing ceremony on August 13.
