Rafi Smriti Art Competition held in Chattogram

The 26th Rafi Smriti Art Competition took place in Chattogram on Friday, at the Rotary Center of the city. The event began at 3 PM and gathered the participation of over 500 students from various schools, competing across three categories. At the end of the competition, 39 students were awarded cash prizes and gifts.

 

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Faruk-e-Azam Bir Protik, the Advisor to the Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the organizers, journalist Osman Goni Monsur and Dr. Rownak Jahan, for their continuous efforts in fostering creativity and mental development in children. He also expressed hope that the competition would evolve into a national-level event in the future.

 

The event was hosted by Nasreen Islam, a senior presenter from Bangladesh Betar. The President of Rotary Club of Islamabad, Professor Dr. A.H.M. Ishaq Chowdhury chaired the program. The chief judge of the competition was Professor K.M. Abdul Kaiyum from the Fine Arts Institute of Chittagong University. Several notable speakers also addressed the event, including former Rotary Governor Abdul Ahad, Journalist Osman Goni Monsur, and Zahidul Karim Kachi, Secretary of Chittagong Press Club.

 

Among those present were Rafi’s mother, Dr. Rownak Jahan, Rotary Center Secretary Muhammad Omar Ali Faisal, Shafiqul Alam Khan, Altaf Mahmud Hannan, Professor Asif Iqbal, Captain Azizul Islam, Mir Nazmul Ahsan Robin, Borhan Uddin, Rotaract President Mohammad Riyad, Secretary Zillur Rahman Rifat, and Editor Tania Akhtar Mahi.

 

The Rafi Smriti Art Competition was supported by Children Leukemia Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) and Rotary & Rotaract Club of Islamabad, Chittagong.
