On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus urged the nation to foster unity and closeness to build a new Bangladesh.

Speaking briefly before offering Eid prayers at the National Eidgah in Dhaka, Yunus emphasized that the sacrifices of those who lost their lives or were injured during the July uprising would not go in vain.

He reaffirmed that the dream of a new Bangladesh would be realized, despite challenges, through collective effort and unity.

“Despite various hurdles, we will overcome the challenges before us and build a united Bangladesh, Insha Allah,” Yunus stated.

The Chief Adviser described Eid as a time for minimizing distances between individuals and fostering love and unity. He prayed for the peace of the martyrs of the July uprising and the swift recovery of those who were injured.

Greeting both the people of Bangladesh and expatriates celebrating Eid abroad, Yunus participated in the main Eid jamaat at the National Eidgah at 8:30 a.m., where members of the Advisory Council, diplomats, dignitaries, and citizens from various walks of life joined the prayers.

Following the prayers, Yunus exchanged greetings with the attendees. Notable figures such as Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain, and Information Adviser Mahfuj Alam were present at the event.

A special prayer (munajat) was offered, seeking divine blessings for peace, prosperity, and the welfare of both Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah.
