The holy Eid-E-Miladunnabi was celebrated amid religious fervor and festivity at the initiative of Journalist Housing Society Jame Masjid Management Committee under Bayezid police station in the city recently.
A discussion and Milad Mahfil was held on the occasion where Khatib of Dhaka Gousul Azam Jame Masjid and former VP of Egypt Al Azahar University, Syed Hasan Azhari attended as keynote speaker.
Journalist Mohammad Sirajul Islam, president of masjib committee chaired the event where veteran journalist, former Chattogram Press Club general secretary, editor and publisher of The Daily People’s View Osman Gani Mansur, journalist Mahbub Ul Alam, founder president of Journalist Housing Society, journalist Shamsul Hoque Haidari, founding president of Journalist Housing Society Masjid Management Committee, OC of Bayezid Thanka Mohammad Arifur Rahman, Mohammad Sirajuddulla , former principal of Chattogram Govt Commerce College, former CMUJ president, journalist Iskandar Ali Chowdhury, Chatgaon Digest editor Sirajul Karim Manik, senior journalist Zafar Haidar, ‘Slogan’ editor Mohammad Zahir and founding secretary of masjid management committee Sarwar Kabir Chowdhury were present as guests of honour.
Khatib Qari Maulana Sheikh Mohammad Imran Hossain Qaderi, Pesh Imam Hafeez Maulana Mohammad Rashedul Hasan Qaderi and Nayebe Imam Hafeez Mohammad Mohiuddin preached sermons at the event.
“ In the Holy Qur’an, Allah Ta’ala has repeatedly called upon mankind to cast a glance at the sky and the vast solar system” to see if any flaw is detected in His creation, Syed Hasan Azhari said, adding that God has created man as the best of His creatures so that man through research and understanding can perceive the mystery of His creation.
Moderated by general secretary Mohammad Naushad Chowdhury , the event was attended among others by Vice President of Masjid Management Committee Shahadat Hossain Jahangir, Finance Secretary Irfan Reza Khan, Member of Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH) Celebration Sub-Committee Journalist Syed Gholam Nabi, Professor Jibran Alam, Professor Hasanul Karim, Mohammad Solaiman, Mohammad Alamgir Sikdar , Mohammad Mustafa Kamal, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Mohammad Ziaul Karim (Sagar), Mohammad Mohiuddin, Mohammad Inzamul Islam (Jiku) and Mohammad Al Amin Hossain .
Later, a special prayer was conducted for peace, progress and prosperity of the country, World Muslim Ummah and welfare of all those present.
