Home Affairs Advisor, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, stated that the “Devil Hunt” operation will continue until its mission is fully completed. He made this announcement while responding to journalists’ questions after the inauguration of a new soil building at the Soil Resource Institute in Farmgate on Sunday, February 9.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury emphasized that the operation targets those who attempt to destabilize the country. He mentioned that many of those involved in the attack on students and the public in Gazipur have already been brought under the law, and others will be apprehended soon.

Regarding the arrest of senior police officers, the Home Affairs Advisor clarified that the crimes committed by those arrested are well known to the public.

This follows a meeting on Saturday night at the Ministry of Home Affairs, which included discussions with law enforcement agencies regarding the terrorist attack on students and citizens in Gazipur. It was decided that the “Devil Hunt” operation would be conducted by joint forces to maintain law and order in the affected areas and bring the terrorists to justice.

Since the operation began in Gazipur and across the country, 75 individuals have been arrested, all of whom are affiliated with the ruling Awami League party and its supporters.
