Brunei is poised to strengthen academic ties with International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), opening new avenues for future collaboration between the two sides. A courtesy meeting held yesterday, Sunday, at the Brunei High Commission in Dhaka marked a significant step toward this goal.

The IIUC delegation, led by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Maulana Shamsul Islam, included Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Azadi, Vice Chairman Muhammad Shahjahan, and Dr. A J M Obaidullah, Chairman of the International Affairs and Student Welfare Committee.

Brunei High Commissioner Haji Haris bin Haji Osman warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his belief that stronger bonds between the two nations could be forged through education and cultural exchange. He also emphasized Brunei’s willingness to support IIUC’s academic and infrastructural development initiatives.

As part of efforts to build bilateral relations at the university level, the High Commissioner assured assistance in facilitating Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between IIUC and two public universities in Brunei.

The IIUC delegation expressed gratitude for Brunei’s interest and generosity, and extended an invitation to the High Commissioner to visit the IIUC campus.
