The full report of the six reform commissions will be officially released on February 8, as announced by Legal Advisor Professor Asif Nazrul. Following the release, the National Consensus Commission will begin its work, starting discussions with various political parties in mid-February.

During a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday, February 4, Professor Nazrul shared the details of the upcoming developments. The briefing was attended by Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mojumdar.

Professor Nazrul explained that the heads of the six major reform commissions met with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the head of the National Consensus Commission and the Chief Advisor of the interim government, to finalize this decision.

He further clarified that the National Consensus Commission will begin its work from February 8. Discussions with political parties are expected to commence in mid-February.

The Legal Advisor mentioned that the heads of the reform commissions have reviewed what immediate, medium-term, and long-term actions are necessary for the commissions. They will also assess future election-related issues and post-election responsibilities. The reports and recommendations will be sent to all political parties and the factions that supported the July uprising.

Additionally, by mid-February, the first meeting of the National Consensus Commission will take place, involving discussions with the factions that supported the July uprising and political parties. The date for this meeting will be determined through consultation with political parties. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the head of the National Consensus Commission and the interim government’s Chief Advisor. Representatives from the political parties and the July uprising supporters will also be present. If the political parties agree, the discussions may continue through the Ramadan month.
