They discussed the UK’s support to Bangladesh and the pathway towards a democratic, inclusive, and prosperous future, said the High Commission on Wednesday.\

The leaders of theNCP on Tuesday met diplomats of the European countries and discussed the party’s views and priorities.

Both sides also discussed the European Union’s support for Bangladesh’s democratic transition.

Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh Michael Miller was, among others, present at the meeting.

“Insightful exchange today with the newly formed National Citizen Party,” said the EU Embassy in Dhaka after the meeting.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam and its Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr Tasnim Jara joined the meeting.

“Honoured to join our Convener Nahid Islam in a candid exchange with the Ambassadors and representatives of the European Union and eight member states — Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and Norway,” Dr Jara said in a post from her verified Facebook account.
