A motorcyclist was killed when a covered van ran him over at Akhtaruzzaman flyover in Chattogram city on Tuesday.
The accident took place at around 11:30 am at Shulakbahar area under Panchlaish Police Station .
The deceased was identified as Rashed, 32, son of Hasan, a resident of Newmooring area in the city.
Locals said that Rashed accidentally fell from the motorcycle while getting down from Akhtaruzzaman flyover.
At that time, a covered van ran him over from behind, leaving him seriously injured.
Later he was rescued and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Nurul Alam Ashek, sub-inspector of CMCH Police Outpost, said that motorcyclist Rashed was brought to the hospital with serious injuries in a road accident, the doctors declared him dead.
