Unidentified body recovered from Naf river in Teknaf

Police recovered the body of an unidentified person floating from Naf river in Teknaf in Coxbazar.

Inspector Tapan Kumar Biswas, in-charge of Naval Police Teknaf Station, said that the body was recovered from the Naf River at Jetighat area near Damdamia of Hnila Union of Upazila on Saturday  around 1:30 pm.

However, the victim’s identity was not identified due to the disfigurement of the face, he said.

He said, the victim was wearing half pants. His face was disfigured so he could not be identified. His estimated age is 25 to 30 years. However, looking at the appearance of the deceased, it is believed that the deceased may be a citizen of Myanmar.

The body was recovered and sent to the Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
