The third National Photography Camp organised by ‘Portrait’ concluded at the Kaptai Horticulture Centre Auditorium in Rangamati recently, said a press release.
Osman Gani Mansur, Secretary General of Commonwealth Journalists Association(CJA), inaugurated the two-day event where veteran photojournalists, photographers and media leaders from across Bangladesh attended.
Former Reuters photojournalist ABM Rafiqul Rahman; Nur Uddin Ahmed, former president of the Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association and director of NTV; Portrait adviser Piyush Talukdar; AKM Mohsin, former general secretary of the Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association; former association president Bulbul Ahmed and his wife Begum Husneara Bulbul; Manjurul Alam Monju, a freedom fighter and president of the Chattogram Photojournalists Association; and Basab Shil, former president of the Chattogram Photographic Society were present as special guests on the occasion.
Mahfuz Alam, convener of the camp chaired the inaugural session while Rupam Chakraborty, director of Portrait, delivered the welcome address. Camp coordinator Ripon Marma greeted the participants.
The closing session was attended by Dr Prabir Khyang, director of the Christian Hospital as the chief guest.
During the program, four individuals were presented with special awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions in different fields. A cultural programme was also held in the evening.
