Professor Md Sayedur Rahman, the special assistant to the chief adviser for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, confirmed the development this morning during a press briefing at National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital.

He said a total of 78 individuals are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals. So far, the bodies of 20 victims have been handed over to their families.

Sayedur Rahman also said that so far, 10 people have died at the National Burn Institute. A total of 42 people are currently undergoing treatment there, the condition of three is extremely critical, and five patients are in the ICU.

At the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), 28 people are admitted, and up to 15 bodies have been kept there. Of these, eight bodies have already been handed over to their families. One body was so badly disfigured that doctors have referred to it as “remains.” The pilot’s body has not yet been handed over.

Sayadur Rahman has requested everyone to pray for the burned children. He has also urged people not to crowd the hospital. He mentioned that there are enough blood donors, although some negative blood groups may still be needed.

A Bangladesh Air Force F7 aircraft crashed into a building of Milestone College around 1:30pm yesterday.
