University Grants Commission Chairman Prof SMA Faiz today said the government has accepted the demands of the protesting Jagannath University students.

He made the announcement at the protest rally around 7:00pm at the Kakrail intersection in the capital.

The move came hours after students of JnU began a mass hunger strike from 3:30pm to press home their four-point demands. The UGC chairman is briefing protesting students at the spot.
