Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministries of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports, has said that the Election Commission (EC) will release the election roadmap in due time, keeping in mind the tentative election date set for the first half of April.

He made the remarks on Monday morning while exchanging Eid greetings with locals in various areas of Muradnagar, Cumilla, responding to questions from journalists.

Sajib Bhuiyan said, “It’s unfortunate when social media rumors are picked up by mainstream media. Many do this with political motives.”

He further added, “In the absence of elected representatives in local government bodies, people are being deprived of essential daily services. There are several tiers of local government, and as per the government’s decision, the Election Commission will be directed to organize elections accordingly.”

Among others present at the event were Cumilla District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Barua, and Muradnagar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Abdur Rahman, along with other senior administrative officials.
