Ctg Journalists’ Housing Society Elects New Leaders

Senior journalist Advocate Sukhamoy Chakraborty elected president as a 15-member executive committee steps up to steer the organization forward.

A new executive committee of the Journalists’ Housing Society under Chattogram’s Bayezid Bostami Police Station was formed at a discussion meeting held on 6 November at the society’s office.

The meeting was presided over by senior journalist Advocate Sukhamoy Chakraborty, with Mohammad Naushad Chowdhury conducting the session.

Former General Secretary of the Chattogram Press Club and Secretary General of Commonwealth Journalist Association (CJA) Bangladesh Chapter, Osman Gani Mansur attended as chief guest.

Special guests included former president of the Chattogram Metropolitan Journalists’ Union Shamsul Haque Haidari, Principal Mohammad Siraj Uddoula, Chattogram Science and Technology Principal Engineer Mahbubul Alam, and freedom fighter Mofizul Islam.

The meeting unanimously elected senior journalist Advocate Sukhamoy Chakraborty as president and Mohammad Naushad Chowdhury as general secretary of the new committee.

The other office bearers are: Mohammad Sirajul Islam — Senior Vice-President, Mohammad Abdul Mannan and Journalist Mohammad Zahir — Vice-President, Mohammad Irfan Reza Khan — Joint Secretary, Professor Jibran Alam — Organizing Secretary, Journalist Shatadol Barua — Treasurer, Mohammad Tariq Imam — Assistant Treasurer, Mohammad Alamgir Chowdhury — Office Secretary, Professor Hasanul Karim — Social Welfare Secretary, Journalist Sayed Golam Nabi — Publicity and Publication Secretary and Mohammad Hanif Khandaker — Sports and Cultural Secretary.

A 15-member executive committee was also formed as Hamidur Rahman and Mohammad Morshed Alam were elected executive members
