Leaders of the Commonwealth Journalists Association, Bangladesh Chapter (CJA-B), held a courtesy meeting with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
The meeting was held at the Finance Minister’s office at the Bangladesh Secretariat, where the CJA-B leaders invited him to attend as the Chief Guest at a seminar titled “Chittagong: Economic Gateway & Lifeline of Bangladesh”, scheduled to be held in Chattogram on November 6, 2026.
Accepting the invitation, the Finance Minister said Bangladesh has now embarked on the right course of economic development. He said the government has undertaken a number of initiatives, particularly involving greater private-sector participation in the management and operation of the country’s ports, along with other economic activities.
He stressed the importance of organising such subject-focused seminars, saying these initiatives can play a significant role in bringing the country’s economic activities and reforms to successful completion.
