Mohiuddin Shah Alam Nipu, a valiant freedom fighter, respected educationist, and prominent figure in Bangladesh’s literary and social circles, passed away on August 1, 2025, following injuries sustained in a road accident. He was 73. Nipu was returning from the 64th APEX Convention, held at Hotel Radisson Blu in Dhaka on July 31, when the accident occurred. Despite receiving medical care at Shamorita Hospital, Dhaka, he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Muhammad Ismail Hossain, former Deputy Director (DDPI) of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Directorate for Chittagong Division, passed away on Friday morning at his residence in Barishal. He was 103. He is survived by his wife, seven daughters, three sons, and a large number of relatives and well-wishers. He was laid to eternal rest at local Bagicha Muslim graveyard. after janaza following Asr prayers on Friday.
