PV desk : A woman was killed and three others injured after a bus overturned hitting a road divider at Fakirhat area under Sitakunda upazila on Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Satuurday (June 29). PV desk : Chattogram Customs and intelligence officials seized a container of foreign cigarettes imported under false declarations at Chattogram port on Thursday. The cigarettes were imported by a Dhaka-based company Hamko Corporation, under the guise of water filters, according to customs officials. The amount of the seized cigarettes of Mond brand is approximately 50 lakh, worth Tk 5 crore. The goods were imported illegally for evading tax, said customs officials. Reazaul Karim Chowdhury, Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), declared the budget at the City Theater Institute hall on June 27, providing detailed data on the city’s past, present and future action plans. PV Report: Another dolphin was found dead in the Halda River in Hathazari upazila of Chattogram on June 25 afternoon. Locals recovered the body of the mammal from the river’s Gorduara area. With this, 41 dolphins have been found dead in the Halda and its canals in the last seven years.
