Bangladesh have slipped to 10th place in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, following a disappointing year in the format that saw them win just one of eight matches.
The latest rankings, released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, reflect team performances over the past three years, with recent results carrying more weight. Bangladesh’s continued struggles in ODIs led to a four-point rating drop, pushing them below West Indies, who moved up to ninth after winning six of their last nine games.
Despite the setback in ODIs, Bangladesh managed to hold on to their ninth-place positions in both the Test and T20I rankings. In Tests, they remain eight points behind West Indies, who sit in eighth, despite winning four matches in the past year. In T20Is, the Tigers are narrowly ahead of 10th-placed Afghanistan by two points and trail Pakistan by three.
At the top of the ODI standings, India and New Zealand maintained their positions as the top two sides. Australia and Sri Lanka are placed third and fourth respectively, followed by Pakistan and South Africa. England also dropped four points and now sit eighth, allowing Afghanistan to rise to seventh.
