CJA, Bangladesh: Executive committee holds Iftar party

The Executive Committee of Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA) Bangladesh organized an Iftar party at Normandians Club in the capital on Tuesday.

CJA President Parveen F Chowdhury chaired the event while Secretary General Osman Gani Mansur moderated it.

The committee in a discussion prior to the Iftar programme expressed satisfaction over the success of the seminar on ‘The state of tea industry in Bangladesh: Challenges and Prospects recently held in Sylhet and gave thanks to all involved.

The meeting approved the expenses placed and unanimously agreed to organize a training workshop for journalists in Chittagong or Cox’s Bazar by April end or next month.

The application fee for new members was revised to 1 thousand taka and the annual membership fee to 1 thousand taka.

The meeting also approved membership to Atifa Anjum Akhtari of Independent TV, Shahnaz Sharmin of 71 TV, Kazi Alimuzdaman of Prothom Alo and Sonia Hossain of TBN.

Members offered prayer for speedy recovery of Treasurer Shafiqul Bashar Chapal.

Farid Hossain, Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, Subash Chandra Badal, Julhas Alam, Mainul Alam, Humayun Rashid Chowdhury, Sucharita Barua & Farukh Ahmed attended the event.
