The Anudhyan Kendro, a social research organization, held a screening of a documentary titled “July Uprising and Hasina’s Series of Massacres” on wednesday evening at the Zero Point of Chittagong University. The event, which began at 8:30 PM, was attended by over a hundred students, faculty members, and professionals.
During the event, Professor Mozammel Haque of the Department of Philosophy at Chittagong University remarked that the spirit of July’s uprising still resides in the hearts of every student in the country. He emphasized that such events help sharpen the awareness of the youth and counter the arrogance of authoritarian leaders like Hasina.
Rashid Dinar, a student of Chittagong University and co-coordinator of the anti-discrimination movement, explained that the screening was organized in protest against the audacity of the killer Hasina. He added, “The images shown in the documentary remind us of how the dictatorship is killing our brothers. Anudhyan Kendro has vividly brought back the painful days of the July Revolution, which we were beginning to forget. We thank and express our gratitude to Anudhyan Kendro at Chittagong University for this. I also encourage other political and social organizations to take similar initiatives. Reminding everyone of Hasina’s series of genocides is our moral duty.”
The organizers stated that the purpose of this event was to reignite the spirit of July among the student community, ensure swift justice for the massacres of July and August, and unite people from all political and social backgrounds against the current reign of tyranny and fascist violence led by the Awami League. Anudhyan Kendro announced that they will continue organizing similar events in the future.
