BCL- Quota protester clash in Ctg

Bangladesh Chhatra League and students in anti-quota movement clashed leave at least 50 injured including journalists and police in Chittagong. The clash started at 5 pm on Monday at Sholshahar in the  Port city. Due to the tense situation traffic has been stopped in the area.

On the ground, it have seen that the Quota protesters  took position at the Sholshahar railway station and junction. On the other hand, BCL activists took position in 2 no Gate and Muradpur area.

At 5:00 p.m., Chhatra League activists came towards Sholshahar to shout slogans, and then the conflict started. loud noises of explosion were heard several times.

Meanwhile, the agitators started throwing stones from the railline. Bamboo and sticks are seen in their hands. On the other hand, stones, bamboo and sticks also seen in the hands of BCL activists.

Latifa Runa Chittagong divisional correspondent Deepta TV,  a member of the police was also injured, police and witness said.

The agitating students claimed that the Chhatra League attacked their peaceful movement,  but the police were seen staying at a safe distance.

Santosh Kumar Chakma Officer-in-Charge (OC)  of Panchlaish Police Station said that bricks were thrown between the two sides. Some of police were injured. We are trying to control the situation.
