Lions Club Chattogram Platinum has marked leadership transition at a ceremony at Prakriti Hall of CLF Bhaban in the city on Wednesday evening.
Lions District Governor Lion Md Kamruzzaman Liton, MJF, attended the programme as the chief guest while first Vice District Governor Lion Abu Bakar Siddique, PMJF was present as special guest on the occasion.
Organised in two sessions, outgoing club president Lion Suman Bhattacharya chaired the first session, while the second session was chaired by newly appointed club president Lion Ahmed Ahsan Saif.
‘Serving disadvantaged people and humanity requires a strong personal commitment’, the chief guest said as he urged the club to focus on inducting quality members to make a greater contribution to society.
Among others, District Cabinet Secretary Lion Belal Uddin Chowdhury, MJF; LCIF District Coordinator Lion Advocate Nurul Islam; GST District Coordinator Lion Helal Uddin Ahmed; Leo Youth Exchange Chairperson Lion Lokman Hossain Majumdar Liton, MJF; RC Lion Humayun Kabir; Zone Chairperson (Club) Lion Fakhrul Alam; Club Treasurer Lion Chowdhury Tanha Naznin; club member Lion Shyamal Kanti Dey; and newly inducted club member Lion Sujon Barua were also present.
The programme began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Zone Chairperson Lion Farid Ahmed Majumdar followed by Club Secretary Lion Piyush Talukder administering the oath of allegiance.
Club Coordinator and RC Headquarters Administrator Lion Abdullah Al Hossain moderated the event.
