Journalist Housing Society celebrates Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi

Speakers highlight Prophet Muhammad’s message of peace, compassion and human welfare

Journalist Housing Society in Chattogram observed holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Friday last.

Mosque Management Committee organized the event where Professor Dr. A.S.M Borhan Uddin of the Department of Islamic History and Culture, CU was the keynote speaker while veteran journalist and chairman of the advisory committee of Journalist Housing Society Plot Owner’s Association Osman Gani Mansur, advisers including journalists Shamsul Haque Haidari, Sirajul Karim Manik, and former banker Sarwarul Kabir Chowdhury, former principal Mohammad Siraj Uddoula, former Chattogram Bar president Advocate Kafil Uddin Chowdhury, Sr. journalist Zafar Haider, Engr. Mahbub Alam, Prof. Dr. Mozammel Hoque Milan, VPs of the Assoc Abdul Mannan and journalist Mohammad Zahir and Office Secy Alamgir Chowdhury were present as special guests.

President of the association journalist Mohammad Sirajul Islam chaired event.

Prof Borhan Uddin said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought a message of peace, welfare and salvation for humanity and showed a ray of hope to people living in an age of darkness.

Principal Mufti Mohammad Abdul Hamid Qaderi, Hafez Maulana Mohammad Nizam Uddin Al-Qaderi, Hafez Maulana Mohammad Selim Uddin and Hafez Maulana Mohammad Mohiuddin also took part in the discussion.

Among others members of the mosque management committee, including Vice-President Prof Shahadat Hossain Jahangir, Joint Secretary Prof Gibran Alam, Treasurer Irfan Reza Khan and Assistant Treasurer Tarek Imam, were present.

General Secretary Mohammad Naushad Chowdhury conducted the event.

The programme concluded with a special munajat seeking peace and prosperity for Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah, as well as the wellbeing of all those present in this world and salvation in the hereafter.
