Ctg erupts in protest over violence against women

Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Chattogram District Unit, organized a protest rally protesting sexual violence and brutal acts against women and girls in schools, colleges, universities, madrasas, families, and public spaces on Monday.

The rally was held at 4:00 pm as part of a nationwide protest programme demanding an end to violence against women and girls across the country in front of the organization’s office at Dost Building in the city.

Professor Latifa Kabir, President of the organization chaired the event.

Speakers at the rally strongly condemned the ongoing incidents of sexual violence and brutality against women and girls and called for swift justice and effective measures to ensure their safety and rights.

Those present on the occasion include among others Vice-President Shelly Dey, Acting General Secretary Sitara Shamim, Treasurer Purba Dash, Organizing Secretary Swati Pal, Environment Secretary Mita Ghosh, members Swapna Biswas Chowdhury, Rina Dash and Arika Maisha,
