Chhabed Sathee, editor of Bangla Press, has once again been honored with the FOBANA Award 2025—his fifth consecutive win—for fearless reporting on internal conflicts, corruption, and irregularities within the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA).
The award was presented during the 39th FOBANA Convention in Atlanta by committee chair Masud Rob Chowdhury. Sathee previously received the award at conventions in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
His reports uncovered election controversies, rival committees, and expulsions—most notably the 2023 removal of two Texas-based groups for unconstitutional activities.
Despite recurring chaos, FOBANA remains active since its founding in 1987, thanks in part to watchdog journalism like Sathee’s.
