NCP Convener Nahid Islam on Friday urged the people of Narayanganj district to remain active against the possible emergence of a new “dynasty” in the district and a return to fascist rule in the country.
The young leader referred to the Awami League-aligned Osman family’s long rule over Narayanganj through rigged elections and a network of criminals.
“You rose up during last year’s uprising and must stay active [even now]. The fight will only end when a new system of rule and a truly pro-people system is set up,” the NCP chief said during a march in the district.
On the occasion of the “Private University Resistance Day,” Nahid also remembered the uprising martyrs from private universities and other educational institutions across the country.
