The Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) is exploring plans to expand its flagship event—the Muslim Ummah Grand Conference—to other states across the United States, MUNA officials announced during a press briefing on the final day of their annual three-day event.

For the past seven consecutive years, the MUNA Conference has been held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in the heart of Philadelphia. If a suitable venue is found, there are plans to organize the conference in any state in the U.S.

On the third and final day of the 8th Annual Three-Day Grand Conference, on Sunday morning (August 10), MUNA’s National President, Imam Delouer Hussain, spoke about these plans during an exchange of views with Bengali media representatives at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

In response to a question from Bangla Press, a U.S.-based Bengali news outlet, Imam Delouer Hussain said, “Our first conference was held in New York. Since then, for seven consecutive years, it has been held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Holding it in Philadelphia makes it very convenient for people from Pennsylvania and nearby states like Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Rhode Island to drive here. If it is held in a faraway state, many might lose interest in attending. However, if we can find a large-scale venue like the Pennsylvania Convention Center in another state, the Muslim Ummah Grand Conference may be held there in the future. Discussions are ongoing, but there are currently no plans to hold the conference in Canada.”

At the meeting, he assured that MUNA would take into account the various suggestions and advice from journalists and would work to solve the difficulties faced by media personnel in covering the event in the future.

MUNA’s National President, Imam Delouer Hussain, also said that thanks to the support of U.S. Bengali media and television, the MUNA Conference is receiving extensive publicity. He sought similar cooperation in the days ahead.

He added that MUNA has a strong media team, led by National Media Director Anisur Rahman Gazi, assisted by Mominul Islam Majumder and Rashid Ahmed.

The meeting was attended by the Muslim Ummah Grand Conference Convener and Executive Director Arman Chowdhury (CPA), MUNA’s National Ex. President Harun O Rashid, Mominul Islam Majumder, Rashid Ahmed, M. Nuruzzaman, Abdullah Al Arif, andAminur Rasul Jamshed, journalists from various states representing print and electronic media.
