Hassan Ariff laid to rest

The adviser was buried after 2nd janaja at HC premises followed by a third one at the Secretariat

The body of AF Hassan Ariff, an adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Land, was  laid to rest at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in Mirpur on Monday. 

Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, confirmed that the burial took place in the morning after Ariff’s daughter returns from Canada on Sunday.

Hassan Ariff, 83, was rushed to Labaid Hospital in Dhaka after falling ill unexpectedly on Friday. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead shortly thereafter.

The first funeral prayer was held on Friday evening after Isha prayers at the Baitul Aman Mosque on Dhanmondi Road No. 7, where it was attended by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus. The second funeral prayer took place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the High Court premises, followed by a third one at the Secretariat.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, along with members of the Advisory Council and political leaders, expressed their profound grief and condolences over the passing of AF Hassan Ariff.
