Former MP and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Naimur Rahman Durjoy was arrested from his residence in the capital’s Lalmatia on Wednesday night during a special operation by police.
Additional Superintendent of Manikganj District Police Imtiaj Mahbub said Durjoy was taken to Manikganj Sadar Police Station and would be produced before court on Thursday after completing legal procedures.
He is accused in multiple cases filed with Sadar and Daulatpur police stations in Manikganj, the police official added.
On 21 January, the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court ordered the seizure of a 2,523 sq ft flat, land, and three vehicles owned by Durjoy in Lalmatia over corruption charges. The court also ordered the freezing of 12 bank accounts in his name.
