“Banshite Shur Sandhya”, an evening of melody by inernationally renowned flutist and Ekushey Padak winner Ustad Azizul Islam. was held at the Theater Institute Chattogram (TIC) on Thursday last.
The cultural evening celebrated his musical contributions and achievements of the flute maestro.
Asim Kumar Ray, social activist and cultural organizer inaugurated the event while Poet and journalist Abul Momen, Shimul Baruai, Principal Latifa Siddiqua Degree College, Sitakunda and Sheela Momen, Rabindra Sangeet exponent were respected discussants on the occasion.
Major General (Rtd) Engr. Abdul Mati, president, Sangit Parisad, Chattogram presided over the event and Tapas Hore, General Secretary, Sangit Parishad, Chattogram delivered the address of welcome.
As the flutist started his unique performance, the music loving audience was mesmerised when there was a pin drop silence in the auditorium.
