Elections can steer country forward: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed hope that the interim government will arrange elections by February. He said that the country will move forward on the right path through elections and voting.

 

Mirza Fakhrul made these remarks while speaking to journalists on Monday morning after visiting the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) upon arriving in Sylhet.

 

He and other central leaders arrived in Sylhet around 9:30 am, where they were warmly received by local BNP leaders at Osmani International Airport. From there, the BNP delegation visited the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA).

 

During the visit, the Secretary General responded to various questions from local journalists.

 

Among those present were BNP’s Central Organizing Secretary G.K. Gaus, Assistant Organizing Secretary Miftah Siddiqui, Chairperson’s Advisor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, M.A. Malik, Central Member Abul Kaher Shamim, District BNP President Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Acting President of the Metropolitan BNP Rezaul Hasan Koyes Lodi, and former Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Badruzzaman Selim, among others.

 

Also accompanying the visit were Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, Dr. A.Z.M. Zahid, Iqbal Mahmud Tuku, Executive Committee Member Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid, Joint Secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon, and several others.
