An Eid reunion, recognition of outstanding students, and an anti-corruption protest rally were held at the premises of Juidondi Khuruskul Sarenga (J.K.S.) High School, organized by the school’s Alumni Association.
The day-long event brought together more than 500 former students from the SSC batches spanning 2000 to 2025, in a vibrant atmosphere that fostered unity and reconnection among alumni.
Shahidul Haque Chowdhury, Deputy Director (Administration) of the Education and Engineering Department, attended the event as the chief guest while Special Jasim Uddin, President of the School’s Ad-hoc Committee; Head Teacher Mawlana Md. Abu Sadek Siddiqi; and Guardian Committee Member Md. Mizanur Rahman were special guests on the occasion.
The event was inaugurated by Fazlul Karim, one of the founding members of the school with Mohammad Kaiser as convener.
General Secretary Mohammad Ridwanul Haque and Organizational Secretary Md. Abdul Hannan delivered the Welcome speeches.
Enamul Karim, treasurer, and Saiful Islam, assistant treasurer, jointly moderated the event.
Presided over by Muhammad Jamir Uddin, president of the Alumni Association, the event was addressed among others by senior members Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Mohammad Mahiuddin, Md. Imran Hossain Jiku, and Md. Nurul Absar.
Besides, former presidents Md. Naim Uddin, Md. Russel, Jamal Uddin, Md. Mahiuddin Riton, Md. Nazem, Syed Abdullah, Touhid, along with other executive members ,and community leaders and Expatriate advisory members—Mohammad Furkan, Mohammad Saiful Islam, Nizam Uddin, Mohammad Amir Hossain, and Mohammad Salauddin Parvez—attended.
A central segment of the event was the honoring of meritorious students, where high-achieving students were awarded. Tokens of appreciation were also presented to all advisory council members and distinguished guests. The segment aimed to inspire young minds to excel academically and grow as responsible citizens.
However, the event wasn’t limited to celebration alone. Alumni members voiced strong concerns over alleged non-cooperation by the head teacher, citing reports of autocratic behavior and financial irregularities. Speakers condemned these actions and demanded a transparent, inclusive management system along with a proper investigation into the suspension of scholarship exams and administrative mismanagement.
A protest rally was carried out by former students and local residents later. Beginning at the school gate, the procession marched through nearby areas, raising banners and slogans against corruption and administrative malpractice.
The event marked not only a joyful reunion of former students but also a powerful expression of civic responsibility and collective commitment to preserving the integrity of the institution.
