Two ships have arrived at Chattogram Port carrying a total of 38,800 metric tons of rice. The rice has been imported under both government-to-government (G2G) agreements and international tenders.
In a press release issued on Wednesday by Imdad Islam, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Food, it was confirmed that one ship brought 17,800 metric tons of aromatic rice from Vietnam under a G2G agreement, while another ship delivered 21,080 metric tons of parboiled rice from India through an international tender.
The release further mentioned that the rice samples from the ships have been tested, and the unloading process is set to begin on Wednesday.
