A clash broke out between two factions of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Raozan upazila of Chattogram on Tuesday (July 29), centering around a party programme.
During the incident, Chattogram North District BNP convenor Golam Akbar Khondkar was reportedly injured, along with several of his supporters.
The incident took place in the Sattarghat area in the afternoon.
Supporters of Khondkar alleged that the attack was carried out by members of the rival faction loyal to BNP Vice Chairman Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury.
Tension remains high in the area following the violence.
