The Chattogram Press Club has expressed deep sorrow and sympathy following the plane crash at the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, which caused many deaths and injuries.

On Monday, July 21, member secretary of the club’s interim committee—Zahidul Karim Kachi, Mustafa Naeem, and Golam Maula Murad—along with Chattogram Metropolitan Union of Journalists’ President Mohammad Shahnawaz and General Secretary Saleh Noman, issued a statement mourning the loss of lives. They prayed for the souls of those who died and sent heartfelt condolences to their families.

They also wished a quick recovery for the injured and urged the government to send seriously hurt students abroad for better treatment. The press club leaders said the crash had caused great and unexpected loss, especially to young students, calling it a heartbreaking tragedy.

According to reports, a training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in Uttara, killing at least 19 people and injuring 164 others. Most of the victims were students.
