Branching out for a greener tomorrow

Journalist Housing Society launches month-long Tree plantation drive

A month-long tree plantation program was inaugurated at the premises of Chattogram Journalist Housing Society in a joint initiative with the Rotary Club of Islamabad yesterday.

Veteran journalist and Rotarian Osman Gani Mansur attended the event as Chief Guest while Rotary Club President Dr. Asif Iqbal, Secretary PP Mahfuzur Rahman, and PP Professor Dr. Monirul Hasan were special guests on the occasion.

Society’s President, advocate and journalist Sukhmoy Chakraborty chaired the discussion.

Besides, journalists Sirajul Haque, Shotoda Barua, Society’s General Secretary Mohammad Nawshad, Engineer Mahbubul Alam, Sarwar Kabir Chowdhury, Rotaract President Riyad, Mohammad Mafizul Islam, S.M. Nuruchfa, Mohammad Almagir Chowdhury, Mohammad Almagir Sikder, Mohammad Jahirul Haque and Mohammad Shahid Ullah, were among others present.

Speakers highlighted the importance of tree plantation and expressed a strong commitment to transforming the Journalist Housing Society into a green and environmental friendly residential area.
