Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) successfully removed around 10,000 tons of sacrificial animal waste from the city between morning and evening on Eid-ul-Azha, according to Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain. Speaking Saturday evening, the mayor stated that the cleanup operation had met its targeted timeline. “By 6 PM, approximately 10,000 tons of waste had been removed. We even monitored areas where animal hides were being collected. The waste removal timeline we set was met very satisfactorily,” he said. Bangladesh Bank plans to merge five troubled Islamic banks in what could be the country’s largest financial sector consolidation in recent memory.
