About 13% of dried fish produced in the country was found to contain pesticides, according to research published on Wednesday. During the study, 260 samples were tested and 87% of dried fish was found safe, said Dr Md Ariful Islam, senior scientific officer at the Shrimp Research Centre of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute. A Dhaka University (DU) student died after being stabbed by miscreants near the Suhrawardy Udyan area adjacent to the campus late Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Shahriar Alam Samyo, 25, a student of the Institution of Education and Research under 2018–19 academic session. He was a resident of room 222 of F Rahman Hall and hailed from Sirajganj’s Ullapara upazila.
