Dhaka and New Delhi today signed 10 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) including seven new and three renewed in the presence of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to further consolidate the ever-growing relationship between the two neighbouring countries. She breathed her last at 6am while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Her elder brother Ezaz Bin Ali confirmed the news. She left behind her husband, two sons and many well-wishers to mourn her death. PV desk : Jewellers have inflated the gold price by Tk 1,073 to Tk 1,16,955 per bhori amid the price hike of pure gold in the local market. The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) decided at a meeting on Tuesday. The new prices will come into effect from today (June 12). A Dhaka court today (June 12) framed charges against Nobel laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus and 13 others in a case filed over misuse of Tk 25.22 crore. Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 Judge Syed Arafat Hossain passed the order. According to case statement, Yunus and 13 others misused Grameen Telecom Workers’ Profit Participation Fund. However, Dr Yunus and 13 others, now on bail, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice. The trial of the case will start on July 15.
