Annual sports competition of Journalist Housing Society kicks off

Guests and executives of Journalists Housing Society during inauguration of annual sports competition of the society on December 16, 2025 in celebration of Victory Day in the city.

The Annual Sports Competition of the Journalist Housing Society at city’s Bayezid  area was inaugurated on December 16, in celebration of the Great Victory Day.

Convener of the Chattogram Metropolitan Freedom Fighters Association and General Secretary of the Metropolitan Sports Association, Freedom Fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed Chowdhury attended the event as Chief Guest while veteran journalist and adviser to the society Osman Gani Mansur inaugurated it .

President of the society Advocate Sukhmoy Chakraborty chaired the event where Senior journalists and advisors including Shamsul Haque Haidari, Sarwarul Kabir Chowdhury, Moktar Ahmed, Freedom Fighter Mofizul Islam, Senior Vice-President Journalist Sirajul Islam, Vice-President Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Joint Secretary Irfan Reza Khan, Organizational Secretary Professor Zibran Alam, Finance Secretary Journalist Shatadal Barua, Office Secretary Mohammad Alamgir Chowdhury, Social Welfare Secretary Professor Hasanul Karim, Publicity and Publication Secretary Journalist Syed Golam Nabi, Sports and Culture Secretary Mohammad Hanif Khandakar, Assistant Finance Secretary Mohammad Tariq Imam, Executive Members Hamidur Rahman, Mohammad Mustafa Kamal, Mohammad Alamgir Sikdar, and Mohammad Rafiq were special guests.

. General secretary of the society Mohammad Nowshad Chowdhury moderated the programme.

“Chattogram Journalist Housing Society’s school field could be a beautiful sports ground’, the Chief Guest said as he assured support of the Chattogram Metropolitan Sports Association for its development.
