Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has underscored the need for peace and unity in Bangladesh, urging both citizens and international allies to support efforts toward national harmony.

Speaking at a gathering at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon on Monday, where he exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings with dignitaries, Dr. Yunus emphasized that peace is essential for ensuring a secure and prosperous future.

“Peace in Bangladesh is extremely important. We must always keep it in mind. We want peace for our country, our nation, and the world,” he said.

The event was attended by government advisers, military chiefs, political leaders, diplomats, members of the National Consensus Commission, civil society representatives, and journalists.

Dr. Yunus highlighted the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr as an opportunity to bring people closer together and strengthen national unity. “This year’s Eid is crucial for fostering togetherness and bridging our differences. Uniting as a nation is vital at this moment, and we must achieve that,” he stressed.

He urged citizens to practice tolerance and build stronger relationships with one another. Addressing diplomats in English, Dr. Yunus reiterated that unity is essential for overcoming divisions and ensuring the country’s progress.

“We need this unity now more than ever. I hope you will support us in this endeavor. Bangladesh has great potential, and we must work together to realize it,” he said.

Expressing optimism about the country’s future, Dr. Yunus called for a collective effort to build a stronger and more prosperous Bangladesh. “Our nation has a bright future that remains untapped. Achieving unity is the first step towards realizing that future. Let’s come together and make it happen,” he concluded.
