Army Chief meets with Chief Adviser

Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman met with Chief Adviser Prof Dr. Muhammad Yunus today at the State Guest House Jamuna in a courtesy visit.

 

During the meeting, General Waker briefed the Chief Adviser on the current security situation in the country and outlined the ongoing activities of the army, according to a statement from the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The discussion also covered various initiatives by the army aimed at supporting national development and stability.

 

General Waker shared details of his recent visit to the Central African Republic, emphasizing that the trip would enhance bilateral relations and military cooperation between the two nations. The army chief also highlighted ongoing efforts focused on the country’s development and stability.

 

In addition, General Waker provided updates on a recent high-level review concerning justice for previously deprived army officers and progress in addressing the issues of dismissed Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks.

 

The meeting also included a report on the Bangladesh Army’s efforts to provide medical treatment to students and civilians injured during the July-August mass protests.

 

Praising the army’s dedication and contributions, the Chief Adviser offered guidance for the army’s future activities and expressed confidence in its continued professionalism and commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and security.
