The Sandhani Chittagong Medical College Unit and Volunteers Association for Bangladesh (VAB), with financial assistance from the Chittagong Medical College Alumni Association USA, extended their support to students affected by the 2024 devastating floods and those injured during the anti-discrimination student protests.
Between February 13 and 18, scholarships were distributed to 151 students from 16 institutions in Lalmai and Lakshmipur sadar Upazilas of Cumilla, and the Chagolnaiya Upazila of Feni, which were severely impacted by the floods. The support was part of a three-day relief effort aimed at helping students whose education was disrupted by the natural disaster.
Additionally, on February 14, financial aid was provided to nine individuals injured during the anti-discrimination student movement at the Sandhani Chittagong Medical College Unit office.
The events were attended by VAB Bangladesh Country Director Mr. Hasnain Sabih Nayek, Assistant Country Director Mr. M.A. Alim Khan, Sandhani Chittagong Medical College Unit President Mr. Mohammad Yasin Arafat, Vice-President Ms. Sharmin Akter, General Secretary Mr. Mohammad Mohimnuzzaman, and other members of Sandhani.
