Due to the large crowd expected at the M A Aziz Stadium for the concert, the book fair at the Gymnasium Grounds in Chattogram will remain closed on Thursday, February 6. The fair will resume on Friday, February 7, as it is a public holiday, starting from the morning.

This information was confirmed by Mustafa Naeem, the convener of the Book Fair Media Committee and Bureau Chief of Daily Kaler Kantho.

He mentioned that the Chattogram Flower Festival 2025’s Gala Night concert will be held at the MA Aziz Stadium on Thursday, featuring performances from popular band Nagar Baul and several other musical groups. Considering the expected crowd, the decision has been made to close the book fair for the day.

The book fair was officially inaugurated on the afternoon of Saturday, February 1, under the patronage of the Chattogram City Corporation and in collaboration with the Creative Publishers’ Association. The inauguration was attended by Adilur Rahman Khan, the advisor to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and the Ministry of Culture.

This year, the fair is set up across 140 stalls spread over 100,000 square feet of the Gymnasium Grounds. Of these, 74 stalls are from Chattogram, while 44 are from Dhaka. Every day, the book fair has become a gathering place for teachers, students, authors, publishers, readers, and culture enthusiasts.
