Adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Md Nahid Islam, said on Friday that Bangladesh’s struggle is ongoing, and the nation is committed to standing tall in the global arena.
“We will surely protect our motherland and establish it proudly on the world stage,” he remarked at a ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
The event, marking National Youth Day 2024, was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in association with the Department of Youth Development.
Highlighting the pivotal role of Bangladesh’s youth in shaping the country’s future, the Adviser said, “The youth, through the July uprising, have shown the world a new path. The world is now watching to see where this powerful generation will take Bangladesh next. We are hopeful and say that the youth will be the driving force of our nation.”
Nahid Islam added that the dream of a Bangladesh free from discrimination is no longer just an aspiration.
At this time the adviser praised youth for their courage and vision.
The event was presided over by Md Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, while Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman, Director General of the Department of Youth Development (Grade-1), delivered the welcome address.
Chief Guest Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, also addressed the audience.
The program concluded with awards presented to successful young entrepreneurs for their achievements.
