The Tree plantation program ‘24’ jointly organized by Rotary Club Of Islamabad, Chattogram and Chattogram Sangbadik Housing Society was formally inaugurated at Chattogram Sangbadik Housing Society premises at Shershah under Byezid  police station  on Friday, August 16, 2024.

Prof. Dr. Ishaq Chowdhury, president of Rotary Club of Islamabad, Chattogram attended the event as Chief Guest while , flute maestro and Ekushey medal winner Ustad Azizul Islam , veteran journalist Osman Gani Mansur, President of Chittagong Rotary Center, journalist Satadal Barua, ex-president Shafiqul Alam Khan,  president elect engineer Dr. Asif, Rotaract President Mohammad Riyadul, Rotary Club of Chittagong Supreme Founder President Mohammad Ershad Chowdhury, Rotarian Abida Wadud, Mosharraf Hossain Chowdhury, Banker ATM Karuddin Chowdhury, Mariam Akhtar and Rifat Saiful Islam Shakib were special guests.

Journalist Shamsul Haque Hydari, joint convener of Journalist Housing Society Plot Owners Association chaired the opening ceremony of month-long tree plantation program.

Speakers at the program said, Everyone should work responsibly for the development of environment and greenery is the ultimate result of tree plantation.

“We have to learn about trees. We get fruits from trees which play a role in maintaining ecology, Besides, all should work on trees for comprehensive benefits, they added.

As many as 200 flower, fruit and wild plants were planted on the occasion that will continue throughout the month for beautification of the society area.

General Secretary of Housing Society Naushad Chowdhury moderated the month-long tree plantation program, said a press release.
