Speakers called for resistance to what they described as conspiracies against the party and the government at a protest rally organized by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, Ctg Div in the city on Sunday, said a press release.
BNP Central Organising Secretary and State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin was the chief guest at the event while Chattogram-9 MP Abu Sufian and Chattogram-10 MP Saeed Al Noman attended the programme as special guests.
The Chattogram divisional unit of the Sramik Dal organized the event at Old Railway Station. Divisional acting president Idris Mia chaired the programme moderated by general secretary Kazi Sheikh Nurullah Bahar.
A government elected by the people’s votes is not afraid of conspiracies, the chief guest said adding that those who conspired against BNP could not survive in the past and will not succeed in the future either. .
He also alleged that “the defeated forces of 1971” and those who fled the country following the political upheaval of 2024 were now engaged in conspiracies.
The people, particularly workers and the public, are ready to resist any future attempts to undermine the BNP, he observed.
Abu Sufian, in his speech, said people wanted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina to return to the country so that she could face justice for injustices committed against the people.
Saeed Al Noman urged workers and party activists to remain vigilant against what he described as conspiracies against the country and its people.

Following the programme, a procession passed through Station Road and ended at New Market intersection.
