A grand Milad Mahfil marked by religious fervor was observed at Shahnagar, Raozan followed by inauguration of Shahnagar Iliyas Khan Jame Mosque alias Nagar Mura Jame Mosque to mark Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on September 11, Friday.
The day-long program was held on the premises of Shahnagar Iliyas Khan Jame Mosque in Ward No. 7 of Raozan Municipality.
The event included Khatme Quran Sharif, Khatme Bukhari Sharif, Khatme Suratul An’am Sharif and Khatme Ghausia Sharif.
BNP Central Vice Chairman and Chattogram-6 (Raozan) lawmaker Alhaj Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury attended the Milad Mahfil as the chief guest.
Hazratulhaj Allama Hafiz Abu Jafar Siddiqui, principal of Kadolpur Hamidia Kamil (MA) Madrasa and khatib of Shahnagar Iliyas Khan Jame Mosque, presided over the programme.
Hazratulhaj Allama Mizanur Rahman Al-Qaderi, assistant professor at Matarbari Majidia Sunnia Senior Madrasa, was the keynote speaker, while Hazratulhaj Allama Moinuddin Al-Qaderi, a muhaddis at Raozan Darul Islam Kamil (MA) Madrasa, was the chief discussant.
Hazratulhaj Maulana Abdur Rashid Al-Qaderi, founder of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) Sunnia Dakhil Madrasa, attended as a special discussant.
Hafez Qari Muhammad Ali Ullah of Uttar Pathanpara attended as the invited Qari. The programme was moderated by Maulana Muhammad Rezaul Karim Qaderi.
Among those present were Raozan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Saiful Islam, politician and social worker MA Halim, Raozan Upazila BNP Convener and former Noapara Union Parishad chairman Nurul Huda, Chattogram North District Jubo Dal Vice-President Saber Sultan Kajal, Syed Monzurul Haque, Safi Company, Abdul Wahed Chowdhury , Syed Touhidul Alam. Members of the mosque management committee, including its President Osman Gani Chowdhury, Vice-President Harunur Rashid Chowdhury, General Secretary Abdul Hannan Chowdhury and Finance Secretary Komar Uddin, Mohammad Shafi Sharif, Mohammad Muslim Sharif and Maulana Abu Bakar.
The event concluded with a special munajat seeking peace, prosperity and overall welfare of the country, its people and the Muslim Ummah.
